Job summary

The Supply Register is seeking proactive Cover Supervisors to support Beckfoot School and its Beckfoot Trust partner sites. This role involves supervising classes, following lesson plans, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment for pupils.

Open from part-time to full-time, the position requires reliable attendance, good communication, and safeguarding awareness. DBS update service is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain order and engagement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, flexibility, and a proactive approach.
• Awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS or have it updated.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following lesson plans provided
• Ensure pupils remain focused, on task, and engaged in learning activities
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and promote a positive classroom environment
• Support pupils with learning tasks as directed, including SEND pupils where appropriate
• Report any behavioural or safeguarding concerns promptly to senior staff
• Assist teachers by providing feedback on lesson outcomes and pupil engagement
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to maintain continuity of learning
• Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and contribute to the welfare of all pupils
