Job summary

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a HCPC registered Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community SLT Team covering Sefton on a part-time, 12-month fixed term basis. The role involves clinic and home visits, delivering assessment, treatment and ongoing management for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
• Strong clinical reasoning and excellent communication skills.
• Experience assessing and treating adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan and deliver treatment for patients with a range of complex communication and swallowing needs.
• Provide assessment and intervention in clinic settings and patients’ homes including care homes.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop person-centred care plans and ensure continuity of care.
• Provide supervision and contribute to service development and professional practice.
