Job summary

FundApps in London is seeking a Mid-Level Back End Engineer to join the Engineering team. You will work on a suite of innovative products that monitor over US$20 trillion in assets daily, using C#, PostgreSQL, AWS, and modern tooling to deliver reliable software for top investment managers.

The role emphasizes ownership, fast delivery with quality, and sustainable practices, while collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement are core.

Qualifications

• Background: you are a mid engineer with generalist knowledge of product development concepts (software design, product requirements, work breakdown) and agile practices (TDD, CI/CD, architecture) and can apply them to solve well-defined problems independently and with your team.
• Work-with-purpose: you can articulate the value of your own work in larger projects or team-wide goals. You have the space to own and deliver solutions and are comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
• Have-courage: you are comfortable asking for and giving feedback. You help others when needed, and participate in debates, brainstorms, and other team conversations regularly. You build good relationships with your colleagues in Engineering, Product, and the wider company and are able to respectfully challenge each other to understand the problem and come up with the best solutions. As a company we try to minimise meetings (we have meeting-free Wednesdays) and default to asynchronous written communication over long multiple person meetings.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation and deliver high-quality software at pace while prioritising sustainability and maintainability.
• Take ownership of your part in projects from Day 1 and collaborate with teammates across Engineering, Product and Ops.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and advocate for good coding practices, testability and DevOps readiness.
• Deliver features that scale for thousands of clients and adapt to evolving requirements.
