Job summary

University of Salford is seeking a Research Excellence Manager to drive the university's REF preparation, support the research impact agenda, and develop research intelligence to inform institutional decisions.

Leading senior colleagues, you will shape policy and strategy to strengthen research performance and maximise the benefits of research across the university, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and impact demonstration.

Qualifications

• Experience driving research excellence and impact initiatives.
• Experience leading REF preparation and submission processes.
• Ability to translate complex evidence into strategy, policy and actionable plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the university's research impact agenda and implement institutional approaches for continuous improvement in impact generation and demonstration.
• Champion a culture where research impact is recognised, planned, evaluated and celebrated across the university.
• Lead development, implementation and evidence capture to understand and demonstrate research quality, vitality and knowledge exchange environments.
• Oversee planning, preparation and delivery for the Research Excellence Framework with compliant submissions and timescales.
• Translate national research assessment policy into clear policies, processes and guidance for the university.
