Job summary

Talbot Village Trust in Dorset is seeking an Impact & Learning Lead (Part-time) to shape how we measure impact, learn from our work, and share insights across the organisation and with grantees. Based in Bournemouth with hybrid working, you will develop practical approaches to evaluation and ensure funding decisions are evidence-informed.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We’re hiring: Impact & Learning Lead (Part-time) — Talbot Village TrustAre you passionate about understanding what creates lasting change and turning evidence into meaningful action?Talbot Village Trust, one of Dorset’s largest place-based funders, is looking for an Impact & Learning Lead to help us understand, deepen and communicate the difference our funding and wider engagement work makes across south-east Dorset.This is a new and pivotal role. You’ll lead the development of our impact measurement, evaluation and organisational learning, helping ensure our decisions are evidence-informed and our funding delivers the greatest possible benefit.You’ll work closely with grantees to develop practical and proportionate approaches to measuring impact, gather insights from communities and help us understand the long‑term difference created by our grants and our wider work ‘beyond the money’.

Based in Bournemouth, with flexible and hybrid working

28 hours per week

£35,000–£40,000 per annum (pro rata; FTE = 35 hours per week), dependent on skills and experience

29 days’ holiday (pro rata)

We’re looking for someone with:

• Experience of designing and leading impact enquiries
• Experience of co-designed approaches, such as community-engaged participatory research
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex information into useful insights
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• An understanding of charitable organisations and the impact of their work
• A collaborative, proactive and self-organised approach
• A full driving licence and access to a car

You don’t need to come from a traditional grant evaluation background. We value the many different routes people take into impact and learning work.
