Job summary

Office for Students is seeking an Evaluation Officer in Bristol to shape higher education policy through rigorous evaluation. The role supports evaluation activity, guides learning, and collaborates with teams to embed evaluative thinking across the organisation.

You will work with an Evaluation Manager on scope, design, and commissioning of evaluations, and help translate findings into action while driving an organisational culture of learning and improvement.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with a relevant research component.
• Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative methods.
• Ability to apply critical and analytical thinking to assess research.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, run, and commission evaluations of OfS activity.
• Manage commissioned suppliers to conduct evaluations.
• Provide expert support and quality assurance to evaluations led by others.
• Facilitate learning and reflection exercises to improve regulatory interventions.
• Take notes in formal meetings and engage stakeholders to translate findings into action.
• Conduct data collection and qualitative analysis.
• Promote an evaluative culture through internal training and blogs.
