Job summary

Office for Students in Bristol offers a fixed-term, full-time Evaluation Officer role to support impactful evaluation activity and evaluative thinking across the organisation. You will work with an Evaluation Manager to scope, design, run, and commission evaluations, manage suppliers, and provide expert QA across teams.

The role emphasises learning from evaluations to improve regulatory interventions, with opportunities to lead smaller areas and contribute to the organisation's evaluation

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a subject with a relevant research component or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods and familiarity with evaluation concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to apply critical and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, run, and commission evaluations of OfS activity.
• Manage commissioned suppliers to conduct evaluations.
• Provide expert support, advice and quality assurance to evaluations led by other teams.
• Support teams and senior decision-makers to learn from and improve regulatory interventions through evaluations, and by facilitating learning activities.
• Engage stakeholders and translate evaluation findings into actions.
• Take notes in formal meetings (steering groups, workshops, etc.).
• Conduct data collection and qualitative analysis.
• Drive culture change to embed a learning mindset and build evaluation into processes.
