Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting Ltd. is partnering with a well-established charitable organisation to recruit a Senior Finance Officer in Exeter. This permanent, part-time role is 24 hours per week and reports to the Head of Finance.

The role blends day-to-day finance operations with the development of systems, processes and controls. You will manage supplier payments, prepare journals and month-end tasks, and support payroll and queries across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance operations, bookkeeping or accounting.
• Solid grounding in accounting principles and month-end processes.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Managing supplier payments and overseeing purchase ledger activities.
• Preparing journals, reconciliations and supporting month-end accounting processes.
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring robust financial controls.
• Supporting payroll administration and other finance operations as required.
• Working with colleagues across the organisation to resolve finance queries and improve workflows.
• Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and make better use of technology.
