Job summary

Veritas Education are partnering with a welcoming secondary school in the Wigan area to recruit a School Nurse / First Aider for a full-time, ongoing position with an immediate start. You will oversee health, wellbeing and safety for students aged 11–16, providing vital medical support throughout the school day.

Ideal candidates include experienced first aiders, school nurses, healthcare assistants or medical professionals who thrive in a busy secondary school environment.

Qualifications

• Valid First Aid at Work qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and medical support to students and staff during the school day.
• Respond to accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies promptly.
• Administer medications following school policies.
• Keep accurate incident and treatment records.
• Support students with medical conditions and healthcare plans.
• Liaise with parents, carers, school staff and external healthcare professionals.
• Ensure medical room and supplies are stocked and maintained.
• Promote health and wellbeing across the school.
