Job summary

Careerline seeks an experienced School Nurse for an independent school in Wokingham, Berkshire. Position can be interim or permanent with term-time hours (30 or 15 per week) and a Band 6 equivalent salary. You will provide first aid, manage medications, and support pupils with healthcare needs throughout the academic year.

The role involves collaboration with parents, staff and external healthcare professionals to ensure high levels of pupil health and wellbeing across day and boarding students.

Qualifications

• Qualified nurse with nursing degree and registration.

Our client is a co-educational, independent school, housed in a Victorian mansion and set in 125 acres of wood and parkland. They have 800+ students between the ages of 3 months and 18 years registered here (day students and boarders from age 11+)

Duties include:

• Providing first aid, emergency treatment and day-to-day nursing care.
• Supporting pupils with long-term medical conditions and individual healthcare plans.
• Administering medication and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Promoting the health, wellbeing and emotional welfare of pupils.
• Liaising with parents, school staff and external healthcare professionals.
• Maintaining medical supplies, First Aid resources and clinical records.
• Supporting the health needs of both day and boarding pupils.

The candidate should have:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Caring and professional approach
• The ability to work independently but also part of a team
• 3 - 5 years of nursing experience with in A& E or as a practice nurse (band 6)
• The ability to work on complex cases
