Job summary

HP4 RECRUITMENT LTD is seeking an IMI-qualified Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) for a busy bodyshop in Harrogate. The role involves inspecting accident-damaged vehicles, producing repair estimates and coordinating with customers and insurers to ensure safe, compliant repairs.

The successful candidate will have IMI qualification in VDA/Estimating, proven VDA experience, and a full UK driving licence. A competitive £45,000 salary is on offer with long-term career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• IMI qualification in Vehicle Damage Assessment / Estimating (required).
• Proven experience as a VDA/Estimator in automotive bodyshops.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair processes and repairing accident-damaged vehicles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in estimates and records.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect accident-damaged vehicles and assess the extent of damage.
• Produce accurate repair estimates and identify required parts and labour.
• Determine repair methods in line with manufacturer guidelines.
• Liaise with customers, insurers and workshop teams throughout the repair process.
• Monitor repairs and update estimates as needed.
• Ensure estimates and repair plans are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Collaborate with Panel, MET and Paint Technicians.
• Ensure repairs comply with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records and repair documentation.
• Support smooth, efficient running of the bodyshop.

About the Role

Our client is a well-established automotive business with a busy bodyshop in Harrogate, and they are currently looking for an experienced IMI-qualified Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) to join their growing team.

This role will involve assessing accident-damaged vehicles, identifying the repairs required and producing accurate estimates to ensure vehicles are repaired safely, efficiently and to the correct industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
