Job summary

EV Tech Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an IMI Level 4 EV-Qualified Vehicle Technician/Engineer for a specialist automotive engineering business. You will work across EV battery systems in the bus and coach sectors from London, taking on hands-on fault finding and diagnostics.

Initially the role is predominantly field-based, travelling across the South East within ~50 miles, with a future workshop element as the operation grows. A permanent position follows after a one-month trial.

IMI Level 4 EV Field Vehicle Technician/Engineer

EV Tech Recruit is recruiting an experienced IMI Level 4 EV-Qualified Vehicle Technician/Engineer on behalf of a specialist automotive engineering business working with organisations across the EV battery manufacturing, bus and coach sectors

This is a hands-on technical position for someone with strong EV diagnostic and battery-system knowledge who is comfortable working independently in the field.

The Role

The position will initially be predominantly field based , supporting customers across the South East of England and typically covering approximately a 50-mile radius

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Hands-on fault finding and diagnostics
  
• Diagnosing issues relating to electric vehicles and EV battery systems
  
• Carrying out technical work in customer environments
  
• Working independently while travelling between customer sites
  
• Providing practical technical support across a range of vehicle applications
  

The company is currently in the process of opening a workshop in the South East . As the operation develops, the position is expected to become a mixture of field and workshop-based work , although it will primarily be field.

Employment Structure

The successful candidate will initially join the business on a one-month temporary, paid basis , employed and paid directly by the company.

This period is designed to allow both the technician and employer to assess suitability and fit.

Following successful completion of the initial month, the intention is for the technician to transition into a permanent position .

Requirements

• Hands-on experience working with light vehicles and/or HGVs
  
• Strong practical understanding of EV battery systems
  
• Proven hands-on experience in fault finding and diagnostics
  
• Confident working independently in a field-based environment
  
• Able to travel across the South East within the required working area
  
• Appropriate driving eligibility for a mobile role
  

Previous bus or coach experience would be beneficial but is not essential . Candidates with suitable light-vehicle or HGV experience will be considered.
