Scope and Purpose

The role of Junior Specialist Settlements is an excellent entry-level opportunity for graduates looking to build a career within the Treasury Back Office Department. It offers valuable exposure to a wide range of financial products and processes in a dynamic and supportive environment.
We are seeking a proactive and independent individual who can think on their feet and provide timely solutions in cases of unmatched or failing trades.

The department handles a broad range of products, including Money Market instruments, FX, Financial Futures, Bonds, Repos, Corporate Deposits, Certificates of Deposit (CDs), and Interest Rate Swaps (IRS), providing the candidate with comprehensive exposure to core treasury activities.

As a Junior Specialist Settlements team member, the candidate will:

  • Be integrated into a forward-thinking and collaborative team.
  • Receive hands-on coaching from an experienced colleague.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department.
  • Benefit from structured training and ongoing professional development.

Initial training will cover the following areas:

  • Settlement of Bonds and Repos
  • Settlement of Interest Rate Swaps (IRS)
  • Settlement of Treasury Money Market and FX transactions
  • Financial Futures settlement
  • Use of SWIFT messages (MT3xx, MT5xx, MT2xx)
  • Exchange-Traded Derivatives: trade input, reconciliation, and margin payments
Required Experience

1-2 years of experience in this role

Required Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
  • Recent Graduate, ideally with a relevant degree such as Banking, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Studies.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel and Word

Preferred skills:

    • Some knowledge and understanding of Settlements processes within financial services is an advantage.
    • Italian language skills are a plus but not a requirement.
