Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is seeking a Lead Engineer for Imaging Technology. You will oversee maintenance of clinical imaging and radiotherapy equipment, ensuring reliability and patient safety while supporting clinical teams.

The role requires a strong engineering background (HND or equivalent), excellent problem solving and the ability to work under pressure. You will collaborate across radiology and radiotherapy services and may participate in on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Engineering knowledge to at least HND level.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure on complex technical challenges.
• Experience with medical devices or ISO 9001/13485/14971 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance across medical imaging and radiotherapy equipment.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and timely corrective repairs.
• Ensure safety, reliability and performance of equipment.
• Support radiology and radiotherapy departments.
• Work across Christie sites and participate in on-call rota.
