Job summary

The Christie NHS FT in Manchester is seeking a Band 7 Engineer to maintain and improve Radiology and Radiotherapy equipment. You will lead technical fault diagnosis, ensure safety and quality compliance, and work across clinical and engineering teams to deliver reliable patient care.

Applicants should have HND or higher in electronic engineering, strong problem solving, and good communication. NHS experience and familiarity with ISO 9001/13485/14971 are desirable.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree in electronic engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong problem solving abilities and clear communication.
• Experience with medical devices or ISO quality systems desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, calibration and safety testing of Radiology and Radiotherapy equipment.
• Diagnose complex faults and apply engineering principles under time pressure.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with ISO standards and safety requirements.
• Provide technical support across radiology, radiotherapy and IT/estates peripherals.
