Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 radiology engineering lead to manage maintenance and fault diagnosis for imaging and radiotherapy equipment across Christie sites. You will drive planned preventive maintenance, safety testing and compliance within ISO 9001 frameworks.

Applicants should have electronic engineering qualifications, be willing to work unsocial hours, and progress towards Clinical Technologist registration or IEng/CEng status with the Engineering Council.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in electronic engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing electronic, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of electronics, health and safety requirements and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary engineering lead for Radiology, delivering planned preventative and timely corrective maintenance across imaging systems.
• Diagnose complex equipment faults under time pressure and restore function while keeping devices safe and compliant.
• Provide secondary engineering support to Radiotherapy, including maintenance on high precision treatment equipment.
• Repair, calibrate and safety-test highly complex radiology diagnostic equipment and take safety-critical equipment out of clinical use when needed.
• Carry out high precision machine quality control checks and adjustments to fractional mm accuracy.
