Job summary

New Victoria Hospital in Kingston upon Thames is seeking an Imaging Assistant to support the Imaging Department across MRI, CT, Ultrasound, X-ray and Interventional imaging. This part-time role (27 hours, Monday–Saturday shifts) offers a salary around £20,607 per year plus benefits.

You will work closely with radiologists and radiographers, assist with procedures, maintain patient safety and comfort, and help with administrative tasks to ensure smooth service delivery in a patient-centred

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience carrying out basic nursing or clinical support tasks.
• At least one year's experience in healthcare setting.
• Understanding of medical interventions and patient care.
• Excellent communication and patient-focused approach.
• Teamwork within multidisciplinary teams.
• Flexible, organised, and calm under pressure.
• Imaging Department experience and IR(ME)R knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operations of the Imaging Department across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, and Interventional imaging.
• Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and patient lists for clinics and procedures.
• Welcome, prepare, and support patients during imaging appointments, delivering an outstanding patient experience.
• Assist Radiographers and Radiologists during imaging procedures and clinics.
• Carry out and record patient observations and support with clinical tasks, including patient safety screening.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention, cleanliness, health and safety, and patient confidentiality.
• Provide administrative support and contribute to continuous improvement of departmental services.
• Work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth and efficient running.

How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen

As an Imaging Assistant, you’ll work closely with Radiologists, Radiographers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless patient journey and the smooth running of the Imaging Department.

Combining clinical and administrative responsibilities, you’ll support patients throughout their appointments, assist with imaging procedures, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.

What We’re Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience carrying out basic nursing or clinical support tasks.
• At least one year's experience working within a healthcare, hospital, or similar clinical environment.
• Understanding of medical interventions and patient care practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient‑focused approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexible, organised, and able to remain calm under pressure.
• A proactive, professional, and motivated individual with a positive attitude.
• Previous Imaging Department experience and knowledge of IR(ME)R regulations would be advantageous.
