Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is seeking an experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) for a full-time, community-based role in Basingstoke. You will support survivors of domestic and sexual abuse, conduct risk assessments, safety planning and ongoing risk management, and liaise with housing and criminal justice services.

You will manage a high-risk caseload with trauma-informed approaches, advocate at MARAC meetings, and help survivors access financial security, employment and education.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking risk assessments, safety planning and risk management.
• Safeguarding Adults Level 2 and/or Safeguarding Children Level 2 or demonstrable equivalent experience or the ability to achieve qualification within one month of employment.
• A recognised IDVA or DAPA qualification is desirable but not essential, with hands-on experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
• Carry out comprehensive risk and needs assessments, safety planning and ongoing risk management.
• Manage a caseload of high-risk survivors, providing trauma-informed support and intervention.
• Advise external professionals on domestic abuse, risk indicators, and referral pathways.
• Support survivors to access financial security, employment, education, and wider services.
• Advocate for survivors at multi-agency meetings, including MARAC, liaising with housing and criminal justice services.
