Job summary

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking to speak with experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advisors, for a community based, full-time permanent position that we have, working with a charity within Basingstoke.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced domestic abuse professional who is passionate about empowering survivors, improving their safety and helping them access the practical, emotional and financial support they need to rebuild their lives.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking risk assessments, safety planning and risk management.
• Safeguarding Level 2 or equivalent, with ability to achieve within one month.
• Awareness of housing, benefits and legal issues affecting survivors of domestic violence.
• Excellent communication, organisational and crisis management skills.
• Full clean driving licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
• Carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and ongoing risk management.
• Manage a caseload of high-risk survivors with trauma-informed support.
• Advise external professionals on domestic abuse and referral pathways.
• Support survivors to access employment, education and wider services.
• Advocate for survivors at MARAC and liaise with housing and criminal justice.
• Maintain confidential case records and contribute to reporting and targets.
• Hours: Mon-Thu 9.30am-5.30pm and Fri 9.30am-5.00pm; on-call rota as needed.
