Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Ltd in East London is recruiting an experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join a frontline domestic abuse service. The role focuses on providing specialist support to survivors, helping them manage risk, improve safety, and access required services.

You will complete risk assessments, develop safety plans, and advocate with agencies to coordinate responses. This position is hybrid with 4 days office-based and 1 day home working, reflecting a flexible approach

Qualifications

• Experience as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and risk assessment.
• Ability to work trauma‑informed and survivor‑centred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist support to survivors of domestic abuse, particularly high risk cases.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans.
• Offer practical and emotional support using trauma-informed approaches.
• Advocate with police, social services and partner agencies.
• Assist survivors to access housing, legal advice and other services.
• Attend multi‑agency meetings and contribute to coordinated responses.
• Maintain case records in line with safeguarding procedures.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist support to survivors of domestic abuse, particularly those experiencing high-risk situations.

Complete risk assessments and develop individualised safety plans.

Offer practical and emotional support using a trauma-informed, survivor-centred approach.

Advocate on behalf of survivors and liaise with partner agencies, including the police, social services and other specialist services.

Support survivors to access housing, legal advice and other relevant services.

Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to coordinated responses to domestic abuse.

Maintain accurate case records and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.
