Job summary

Affirm’s Identity team leads critical identity checks that impact conversion, fraud exposure, and regulatory compliance across markets outside North America. As a Manager, you’ll guide a diverse engineering team, shaping the Identity platform to meet evolving market dynamics and compliance demands.

You will own the technical roadmap, drive large-scale redesigns, and ensure reliability of consumer-facing systems while collaborating with Product, Design, and Analytics.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing and growing engineering teams.
• Proven delivery of consumer-facing software and ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong architectural judgment to guide design, quality, and reliability; empower senior engineers.
• Experience leading end-to-end technical initiatives, with clear time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers – setting clear expectations and providing feedback.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap linked to major experience initiatives.
• Empower the tech lead and engineers during design and cross-functional alignment.
• Own availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems – on-call and incident response.
• Drive alignment across organizations and influence roadmaps with partner teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams to build trust.
