Job summary

London Gatwick is seeking an Identity and Access Manager to lead the design, implementation, and governance of IAM across a large environment. The role focuses on federated identities, MFA, privileged access, and cloud identity platforms, with a strong emphasis on data access governance and information protection.

The role offers an office-first hybrid arrangement, three days in the office and two days remote, and requires managing IAM strategy within a major transformation programme.

This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.

What is the role?

The Identity and Access Manager (IAM) leadership opportunity is more than an operational IAM position.

It offers the chance to influence a major business transformation programme while applying your existing cyber security and identity expertise.

The role includes responsibility for designing and implementing IAM strategy, managing federated identities, B2B integrations, privileged access, MFA and cloud identity platforms across a large and complex environment.

The key ethos is driving digital identity, data access governance, and information protection.

What will you do?

• Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of IAM systems, including identity provisioning, authentication, authorisation, and access controls for both standard and privileged users.

• Develops and executes IAM strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

• Oversees the operation of IAM technologies, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance for both on-premises and cloud-based systems.

• Establishes and enforces IAM policies, standards, and procedures to mitigate security risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

• Leads the evaluation and selection of IAM solutions, vendors, and technologies.

• Maintain working knowledge of access management, directory services, privileged access management, multi-factor authentication and federated identities across applications and services.

• Collaborates with internal teams and external partners to integrate IAM solutions into existing systems and applications.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on IAM matters, providing guidance and support to internal business units, external suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Do you have what we're looking for?

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

• Proven experience in technology implementation, including developing, implementing and architecting information systems, and technical architecture experience integrating identity management, access management and access governance software into clients' infrastructure and applications.

• Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator

• Experience in managing organisation identities (standard user, privileged user and external partner user access) across a large a varied range of systems and applications.

• Expert understanding of web security standards, architecture, web security best practices and application security best practices

• Expert understanding of IAM concepts, including federation, authentication, authorisation, role-based access controls, access control attacks, identity and access provisioning life cycle.

• Experience leading IAM projects from inception to completion, including requirements gathering, solution design, and deployment.

• In-depth understanding and experience of information security related regulations and standards including NIS Directive, GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO27001

• Experience of working within an IT environment, including change, problem and incident management and response.

• A strong aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking, ability to research solutions, with a strong attention to detail

• Proven ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision, particularly when dealing with high impact incidents.

• This role will require being a member of the cyber on-call rota.
