ICT Technician

Job Start Date: As soon as possible

PHHS Support Staff Pay Scale: Pt 0.3 -8, dependent on experience, £19,293 – £24,890

37 hours per week

The Network Support Technician will assist the Network Manager in delivering high-quality IT services to the entire school. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT equipment and systems, ensuring smooth technology operations to support teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

The Network Support Technician is required to:

• Carry out all duties allocated in an effective manner and liaise closely with the Network Manager
• Liaise with staff and students regarding IT services
• Attend courses necessary for performing duties

Duties

The Network Support Technician will undertake duties under the supervision of the Network Manager, including:

• Supporting the network manager in delivering IT services to the school
• Installing and maintaining computers, printers, projectors, and other IT equipment
• Installing and updating software, monitoring updates, and troubleshooting as needed
• Preparing and testing installation packages for new software
• Performing daily checks of technology to identify issues early
• Monitoring stock of consumables, ordering replacements as needed
• Handling IT access queries from parents
• Troubleshooting IT issues across the school
• Maintaining records of IT equipment
• Managing daily backups
• Responding to password and account reset requests, managing disk space quotas
• Familiarity with Windows 11, Microsoft Office, and some experience with Microsoft Intune is desirable
• Assisting staff and students with hardware and software issues to facilitate teaching and learning
• Checking and installing new hardware, redeploying existing hardware, and maintaining accurate records
• Performing routine inspections and maintenance of IT facilities and equipment
• Managing user accounts on the network and online platforms
• Logging technical faults via the help desk system
• Installing software packages across school devices
• Maintaining and verifying backup routines and anti-virus solutions
• Managing stock of consumables and liaising with suppliers for best value
• Coordinating with external support agencies to resolve faults
• Providing technical support in the Henrician Theatre, including liaising with hires, responding to Tech Riders, and organizing technicians

All duties must be performed in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Regulations, ensuring safety for oneself and others and cooperating with the employer's safety policies.
