Job summary

Cambridgeshire Constabulary is seeking an ICT Server & Storage Infrastructure Engineer to join the BCH ICT Department at the Headquarters in Huntingdon. You will help deliver and maintain the on- and off-prem infrastructure, with changes documented under policy and supported across multiple sites.

The role requires several years of server administration experience, with Microsoft Server, Hyper-V, and VMware, plus storage systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• Three years’ practical server administrator experience.
• Two years’ experience with Microsoft Server, Hyper-V and/or VMware.
• Experience with Linux and/or Solaris servers is desirable.
• Understanding of network infrastructure, switching, routing firewall principles and data traffic flows is desirable.
• Experience of supporting various storage systems and technologies is desirable.
• Must be highly-motivated, innovative and flexible with excellent time management skills. Must be capable of good communications at all levels often dealing with complex ICT issues with non-ICT staff.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision even when under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain BCH on- and off-prem Server & Storage Infrastructure, ensuring all changes are documented and processed according to the departmental change policies and procedures.
• Support the Server & Storage Infrastructure North Team and assist the Team Leader and ICT Infrastructure Manager.
• Collaborate with the three police forces to deliver reliable ICT services and respond to site requirements.
