ICT Consultant

Job Description:

ICT Consultancy plays a key role in digitally enabling the built environment to provide technologically advanced projects tailored to our clients’ needs. We have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Design Consultant to join our growing multidisciplinary engineering team in London.

You will collaborate on projects both nationally and internationally. Responsibilities include design delivery, technical calculations, and production of REVIT models and drawings.

Responsibilities:

1. Understanding, capturing, and developing client ICT infrastructure requirements.
2. Design development from concept through to construction.
3. Delivering high-quality detailed engineering design for IT/AV/ELV, including scheme diagrams, space allowance, schematics, drawings, models, specifications, and other documents.
4. Knowledge of relevant legislations, standards, regulations, and good practices.
5. Taking responsibility for specific areas of design and project development, as required.
6. Continuing professional development (CPD) in line with professional institution requirements.

Qualities and Skills required:

Degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or Computer Sciences (MEng or BEng). Membership or progression towards membership in professional institutes such as IET, BCS, or CIBSE is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge in designing and managing ICT distribution systems, including:

1. Familiarity with RIBA or AIA frameworks.
2. Understanding of Data transmission, Computer Networks, LAN/WAN design.
3. Knowledge of Structured Cabling systems, passive network infrastructure.
4. Ability to produce ICT/AV design specifications, reports, schematics, and drawings.
5. 1-3 years of relevant experience in ICT/AV/Security systems design.
6. Awareness of industry standards like TIA, IEEE, BSEN, BICSI.
7. Familiarity with connectivity technologies such as TCP/IP, LAN, PON, Ethernet, BACNet, LoRaWAN.
8. Understanding of network security, protocols, and telecommunication infrastructure planning.
9. Knowledge of wireless network coverage planning and IoT systems.
10. Financial awareness in project management.
11. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office.
