Job summary

Astrum Search is working with a FTSE PLC to recruit an ICFR Lead to drive the implementation of a financial controls framework aligned with SOX 404. Based at the Birmingham HQ, you will lead the first-year rollout, conduct scoping, risk assessments, walkthroughs, risk/control matrices, testing and remediation. You will also develop an ICFR Analyst and push automation as the framework matures. This is a hands-on, senior stakeholder-facing role.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading a first-year SOX/ICFR implementation.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders.
• Strong technical knowledge of ICFR/SOX 404.

Responsibilities

• Lead the ICFR/SOX 404 implementation plan from scoping to remediation.
• Develop an ICFR Analyst and upskill the team as the framework matures.
• Collaborate with UK and Group finance leaders to align controls across the business.

Job description

Astrum Search is working with a FTSE PLC to recruit a ICFR Lead to drive the implementation of a financial controls framework aligned with SOX 404.

This is an opportunity to build the framework from its first year, shape how controls operate across a large and complex business, and work closely with senior UK and Group finance leaders.

You’ll lead the implementation plan, including scoping, risk assessments, process walkthroughs, risk and control matrices, testing and remediation. You’ll also develop an ICFR Analyst and help the business improve and automate controls as the framework matures.

The essential experience is leading a first-year SOX/ICFR implementation from within a business. You’ll need strong technical knowledge of ICFR/SOX 404, the confidence to influence senior stakeholders, and the willingness to stay hands-on with delivery.

A professional accounting or audit qualification is required.
