Job summary

Experian is seeking a seasoned ICFR/SOX professional to strengthen global internal controls across the group. The role blends control design, governance and transformation, working with Finance and IT to embed leading practices in a sizeable multinational context.

Based in the UK, the position offers hybrid working with offices in Nottingham or London. You will drive standardisation, automation and continuous improvement across global processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with Financial Controls, SOX, ICFR or related controls environment.
• Ability to design and embed control frameworks with operating effectiveness.
• Experience with Finance Control Towers or global process ownership.
• Strong stakeholder management across global organisations.
• Experience supporting SOX readiness and large ICFR transformations.
• Knowledge of control rationalisation, automation and continuous monitoring.

Why this role is important to us

We're on a journey to strengthen and standardise our global Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework, evolving towards leading-practice SOX standards. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping how controls are designed, implemented and embedded across our global organisation, helping drive greater consistency, efficiency and confidence in our financial control environment.

This is a hybrid role based in our Nottingham or London office.

Work that matters – What you'll be doing

• Support the design, implementation and embedding of Experian's global ICFR framework, helping evolve financial controls towards a leading-practice SOX-aligned standard.
• Partner with Finance Control Towers, IT Controls, Governance and Business Partners to lead consistency, standardisation and control execution across global processes.
• Lead control transformation programs, simplifying controls, eliminating duplication and improving the effectiveness of the control environment.
• Drive continuous improvement through the use of automation, analytics, control monitoring and best-practice methodologies to enhance control performance and productivity.
• Help translate programme outcomes into scalable business-as-usual frameworks, standards, tools and governance routines.

Qualifications

What you'll need to bring to the role

• Strong experience within Financial Controls, SOX, ICFR, Internal Audit, Risk or a related controls environment.
• Understanding of control frameworks, control design and operating effectiveness, with experience improving and embedding sustainable control environments.
• Experience working within or partnering with Finance Control Towers, Shared Service Centres or global process ownership structures.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities for standardisation, simplification and control optimisation.
• Strong stakeholder management with the ability to drive outcomes across complex global organisations.
• Experience supporting SOX readiness, SOX compliance programmes or large-scale ICFR transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of leading-practice controls excellence, including control rationalisation, control automation and continuous controls monitoring.
• Experience using GRC platforms, workflow technologies, process mining tools, analytics platforms and automation solutions.
• Experience developing control tower operating models, governance frameworks or global controls standards.
• Experience leveraging data and technology to improve controls effectiveness, efficiency and insight.

Qualifications

• A qualified or qualified by experience Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
