Job summary

AmpsTek in Glasgow, UK, seeks a hands-on Java and Python engineer to support IAM/Directory Services, including PingDS integrations and plugins. The role is hybrid (3 days/week) in Glasgow and operates InsideIR35.

You will work on Java enterprise applications, automation scripts, and API/integration development, with Linux (RHEL) and Bash scripting skills to automate deployment and operational tasks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java development experience including debugging, API development, and enterprise apps.
• Hands-on Python development including automation, utilities, data processing, and script production.
• Experience supporting IAM/Directory Services platforms, preferably PingDS.
• Experience with PingDS plugins/extensions or Java-based directory services components is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java-based components and integrations for PingDS environments.
• Build and enhance Python automation, utilities, and production scripts.
• Support migration, upgrades, and production stabilization of IAM/Directory Services.
• Analyze logs, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to deployment and validation tasks.

Location : Glasgow, UK (Hybrid 3 days/week)

Contract (InsideIR35)

• Hands-on experience with Java development, including troubleshooting, debugging, code enhancements, API/integration development, and working with enterprise Java applications.
• Hands-on experience with Python development, including building automation, utilities, APIs/integrations, data processing, troubleshooting, and production-quality scripts.
• Experience supporting IAM/Directory Services platforms, preferably PingDS (ForgeRock DS), including migration, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and production support.
• Experience developing or maintaining PingDS plugins/extensions, custom integrations, or Java-based directory services components is a strong plus.
• Experience with PingDS plugins/extensions or custom integrations is a plus; ability to understand and work with existing Java-based PingDS components is desirable.
• Working knowledge of Linux/RHEL, including filesystem, permissions, processes, services, networking fundamentals, log analysis, and performance troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (Bash or equivalent) and automation of deployment, migration, validation, and operational activities.
