IAM Engineer – Java Developer

Job summary

OneAPPS Consulting in Glasgow is seeking a hands-on Java developer to join our technology team. You will work on enterprise Java applications, support IAM/Directory Services platforms (PingDS), and contribute to plugin/extensions development.

The role requires Linux/RHEL expertise, Bash scripting, LDAP/LDAPS familiarity, REST/JSON, and modern dev practices with Git, CI/CD, Maven/Gradle. A background in AI-assisted coding tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java development, including troubleshooting, debugging, code enhancements, API/integration development, and working with enterprise Java applications.
• Experience supporting IAM/Directory Services platforms, preferably PingDS (ForgeRock DS), including migration, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and production support.
• Experience developing or maintaining PingDS plugins/extensions, or Java-based directory services components.
• Working knowledge of Linux/RHEL, including filesystem, permissions, processes, services, networking fundamentals, log analysis, and performance troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (Bash) and automation of deployment, migration, validation, and operational activities.
• Familiarity with LDAP/LDAPS, directory services concepts, replication, schemas, certificates/TLS, REST APIs, JSON, and IAM security fundamentals.
• Experience with modern development practices and tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, Maven/Gradle, testing frameworks, code reviews, and secure coding practices.
• Basic understanding of AI/GenAI concepts and practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting, with appropriate validation and secure-use practices.
• C/C++ experience will be a plus.

• Familiarity with LDAP/LDAPS, directory services concepts, replication, schemas, certificates/TLS, REST APIs, JSON, and IAM security fundamentals.
• Experience with modern development practices and tools such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, Maven/Gradle, testing frameworks, code reviews, and secure coding practices.
