Job summary

Sodexo is seeking an Information, Advice and Guidance Tutor to work with prisoners at HMP Peterborough, helping them identify opportunities, set education and employment goals, and create practical plans for resettlement. You will provide individual and group guidance, initiating Personal Learning Plans and supporting progression paths.

The role emphasizes collaboration with education, skills, work, and inclusion teams, and requires Enhanced DBS and vetting.

Qualifications

• Provide high-quality information, advice and guidance through one-to-one and group work.
• Experience with CIAG induction assessments, including Maths, English and ICT.
• Maintain Personal Learning Plans (PLP) at induction.
• Advise on education, skills, training and employment opportunities.
• Help prisoners develop realistic career and learning plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality information, advice and guidance through a combination of one-to-one support and group work.
• Complete CIAG induction assessments, including Maths, English and ICT.
• Complete and maintain each prisoner's PLP at induction.
• Ensure PLPs and records are accurate, up to date and uploaded correctly.
• Support prisoners to develop realistic career and learning plans focused on achievement and resettlement.
• Advise prisoners on education, skills, training and employment opportunities.
• Help individuals understand qualifications and skills required to achieve their chosen career pathway.
• Work one-to-one and in groups to develop skills, confidence and motivation.
• Identify and help individuals overcome barriers to learning and progression.
• Collaborate with education, skills, work, Neurodiversity & Inclusion and wider prison teams.
• Support prisoners to establish SMART goals and clear pathways towards release and employment.
• Maintain accurate records and work within relevant policies and legal requirements.
