Job summary

Alexander Steele Ltd is seeking a Hygiene Team Leader to guide the hygiene team at our Kent site, ensuring high levels of cleanliness, food safety and GMP across operations. You will oversee daily cleaning, train operatives and maintain accurate records.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 6am–4pm, focusing on effective schedules, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. Prior hygiene or FMCG experience, strong leadership, and organisational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• GMP, food safety and health & safety knowledge required.
• Experience in hygiene, food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
• Strong communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support hygiene operatives during daily activities.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and hygiene standards across the site.
• Monitor compliance with GMP, food safety, quality and safety requirements.
• Conduct hygiene inspections, audits and equipment checks.
• Complete hygiene records and documentation accurately.
• Report and escalate any hygiene, food safety, or safety concerns.
• Support training and development of hygiene team members.
• Monitor hygiene stock levels and assist with replenishment orders.
• Carry out cleaning tasks as required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and deputise for the Hygiene Manager when required.

Alexander Steele are supporting a Global manufacturing business who are seeking a Hygiene Team Leader to lead and support the hygiene team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and GMP across the site. Ensure cleaning schedules are completed effectively, hygiene procedures are followed, and team members work safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
