Job summary

Florette in Lichfield is seeking a Hygiene Team Leader to maintain hygiene standards in the processing plant and lead the hygiene team. You will organise cleaning, ensure tools and procedures are correctly used, and supervise safety and chemical handling to support efficient production.

The role requires experience in food manufacturing, CIC procedures, and effective team communication. It offers an hourly rate with bonus opportunities and a range of benefits in a market-leading site.

Qualifications

• Chemically trained and competent in hygiene practices.
• Experience in food manufacturing environments.
• Understanding CIC procedure compliance and safe operating practices.
• Experience and competency in stripping down and rebuilding equipment for hygiene.
• Strong verbal and written communication within a team.

Responsibilities

• Organise the hygiene team to complete cleaning to required standards.
• Ensure staff are equipped and trained; escalate access issues to the shift manager.
• Ensure correct tools and methods are used to avoid damage during cleaning.
• Follow strip down and rebuild procedures to prevent damage and protect equipment.
• Oversee chemical handling and LOTO compliance; liaise with production/engineering to ensure lines are available for cleaning.
• Report damages or concerns to the shift manager and engineering; deputise when needed.
• Promote positive safety behaviours through safety observations.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Hygiene Team Leader to join our team at Florette in Lichfield, WS13 8NF. This role is to maintain hygiene standards in the processing plant, associated equipment and peripheral areas of the factory and to organise the Hygiene team ensuring the clean is completed to the required standard, according to the written Cleaning Instructions, in the required time frame.

Responsibilities

• Utilise and organise members of the hygiene team to ensure cleaning is completed on time to the required standard.
• Ensure all staff are suitably equipped and trained to perform in their role including agency team members. Escalate to shift manager where tools for the job are not accessible.
• Ensure correct tools & methods are always used to ensure cleaning is effective while no damage is caused during the cleaning process
• Ensure that the strip down & rebuild procedures are followed to ensure effective cleaning & eliminate risk of damage. Ensure all sensitive equipment is protected.
• Ensure efficient and correct use of chemicals. Ensure LOTO processes are followed.
• Liaise with production/engineering to ensure lines are available to be cleaned and any issues with the plant.
• Proactively report all damages, issues or concerns to the shift manager and engineering.
• Deputise for the shift manager.
• To be a leading example and promotor of positive behavioural safety through participating in and training out Safety Starts with Me observations.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating in CIC's procedures.
• Experience & competency in strip down & rebuild of equipment pre & post hygiene clean.
• To be able to communicate effectively in a team.
