Job summary

Mitie is recruiting a Hygiene Chargehand to deliver service standards and oversee a cleaning team across client sites at McVitie's, Carlisle. You will supervise shifts, assign tasks, ensure schedules and hygiene inspections meet requirements, and support training while maintaining safety procedures.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Hygiene Chargehand who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and managing a cleaning team across multiple client sites.

Pay: £14.00 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00 )

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Hygiene Chargehand to support our hygiene operation within a busy food manufacturing environment.

Working Monday to Friday, you will support the Hygiene Management Team with the day-to-day supervision of the hygiene team, helping to ensure cleaning standards, safety requirements and hygiene procedures are consistently maintained.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Supporting and supervising the hygiene team during the shift
• Allocating and checking daily cleaning tasks
• Ensuring cleaning schedules are completed to the required standard
• Carrying out hygiene inspections and escalating any issues
• Ensuring safe working practices and site procedures are followed
• Supporting training and development of hygiene operatives
• Completing relevant cleaning and compliance documentation
• Working closely with the management team to deliver excellent hygiene standards
  
  

We're looking for someone who is reliable, organised, confident leading a team and happy to take a hands-on approach. Previous experience within industrial hygiene, cleaning or food manufacturing would be advantageous.
