Job summary

Greencore is seeking a Hygiene Operative at our site in the UK. The role involves carrying out hygiene tasks, deep cleaning and ensuring compliance with COSHH and safety procedures.

You will work a 3-night pattern from Thursday to Saturday, 05:30 to 05:00, contributing to a safe, clean food production environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in hygiene duties, a strong safety mindset, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience performing hygiene tasks in a warehouse or food production setting.
• Strict adherence to approved hygiene procedures and logging.
• Promotes health, safety and environmental awareness in the department.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with manual handling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Undertake hygiene tasks including cleaning equipment and areas to required standards.
• Review equipment and highlight damage; escalate risks as needed.
• Use chemicals safely according to COSHH regulations.
• Deep clean areas per schedule and as required.
• Complete paperwork accurately and submit to the correct personnel.
• Follow work instructions and flag issues to the Hygiene Manager.
• Carry out hygiene activities to support daily requirements and maintain operational integrity.
• Identify opportunities for sustainable quality improvements aligned with shift planning.

Rate of pay - £14.24 Per Hour, overtime paid at 1.25 hours after 48 hours

What you'll be doing:

• In this role, you will undertake hygiene tasks including the cleaning of equipment and areas to the required hygiene standard.
• Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating risks to the appropriate personnel
• Use all chemicals appropriately and safely according to the COSHH regulations
• Deep cleaning of relevant areas following the cleaning schedule, as and when required
• Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted to the correct personnel
• Follow work instructions highlighting any issues to the Hygiene Manager
• Carry out hygiene activities when needed in line with daily requirements ensuring operational integrity
• Promote a good health, safety and environmental culture within the department Identify and highlight any opportunities that make sustainable improvements to increase quality, performance in support of the overall shift plan

What we’re looking for:

• Proficient in performing general warehouse hygiene duties
• Strict adherence to written approved procedures for hygiene tasks, with attention to completing logbook entries by company standards
• Promotion of a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness within the department
• Effective communication abilities, both in reading and writing
• Experience working in a role involving manual handling desired
• Experience of working in a food production environment is desired, but not always essential
• Cleaning experience preferred but not essential
