Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services at the McVitie's factory in Manchester is seeking a Hygiene Operative to join a 3 on 3 off, 07:00–17:00 shift pattern. The role is permanent, full-time (35 hours/week) with a focus on maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and food quality in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning production lines and equipment, performing deep cleaning tasks, applying safe chemical handling and PPE, and supporting audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hygiene, industrial cleaning, manufacturing or food production is desirable but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A positive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and food hygiene.

This is a key role supporting food production by ensuring manufacturing equipment, production lines and processing areas are cleaned to the highest standards of hygiene, safety and food quality. Working as part of a dedicated hygiene team, you will help maintain a safe, compliant and production-ready environment within a fast-paced food manufacturing facility.
