Job summary

Bidvest Noonan is seeking a Hygiene Manager to lead day-to-day hygiene and cleaning operations on site, driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will manage a high-performing team, coordinate with the client, and ensure compliance with COSHH and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, scheduling, and financial acumen to oversee staff workloads, budgets, and service delivery while maintaining excellent client relations on long-term contractual work.

Qualifications

• Proven background as Hygiene Manager or Assistant Hygiene Manager in a fast-paced sector.
• Experience managing large teams, HR issues, rotas and performance management.
• Direct client-facing experience with SLAs and client expectations.
• IOSH Managing Safely or COSHH training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build partnerships with client representatives and promote services on site.
• Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and billing for ad hoc or specialized works.
• Plan and allocate staff workloads and equipment for efficiency.
• Adjust staffing levels to meet daily, seasonal, and extra work requirements.
• Conduct regular audits of cleaning standards and implement corrective actions.
• Provide clear leadership and day-to-day guidance to hygiene staff.
• Oversee onboarding, training needs analysis, and staff development.
• Monitor absence, HR compliance, and performance reviews on site.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Identify process improvements, root-cause analysis, and permanent fixes.
