Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced Hygiene Manager for a busy food manufacturing site in Liverpool. The role covers overseeing hygiene practices, safety, and compliance with quality standards.

It offers a permanent contract, a £40,382 annual salary, and a structured night shift from 10pm to 6am, Monday to Friday. The candidate will manage a hygiene team, ensure safe handling of chemicals, train staff, and maintain up-to-date SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site health, safety, quality and food safety procedures.
• Oversee health and safety practices including COSHH and risk assessments.
• Manage segregation, storage and safe handling of chemicals.
• Oversee stock control of hygiene consumables and chemicals.
• Ensure line washdowns follow the deep-clean schedule.
• Provide training for new starters and coordinate external training as needed.
• Attend management meetings to support site operations.
• Update and enforce SOPs and CICs.

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced Hygiene Manager to join our client, a busy food manufacturing site in Liverpool.

Key Duties

• Ensure compliance with site health, safety, quality and food safety procedures, adhering to company policies and identifying potential risks.
• Oversee Health & Safety practices, including COSHH assessments, risk assessments and documented safe systems of work.
• Manage the segregation, storage and safe handling of chemicals and associated equipment.
• Oversee the ordering and stock control of hygiene consumables and chemicals, ensuring adequate supply levels.
• Ensure line washdowns are completed efficiently and consistently in line with a structured deep-cleaning schedule.
• Provide training for new starters, including on-the-job training, and coordinate external training where necessary.
• Attend management meetings as required to support site operations.
• Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs) are regularly updated and adhered to.
• Plan and manage staffing and recruitment to maintain an effective hygiene team.
