Job summary

Allstaff Manufacturing Division is seeking a Hygiene Manager to own the hygiene function across the Glasgow site. You will lead a Hygiene Team, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with BRC Global Food Safety standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a production setting and strong audit readiness. Based at our Glasgow site, the role focuses on hygiene excellence, microbial targets, pest control and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment, ideally food or drink.
  • Experience leading a team of ~20 Team Leaders and 1 Supervisor.
  • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
  • Comfortable with planned or unannounced audits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Hygiene Team, including scheduling, performance management & training.
  • Oversee hygiene schedules & cleaning procedures, with regular audits.
  • Coordinate deep-cleaning activities, including equipment strip-downs.
  • Support Technical Manager with pest control and audit readiness.
  • Conduct shift inspections to monitor safety and hygiene standards.
  • Achieve targets for microbiological trends, HACCP & equipment release.
  • Liaise with chemical suppliers to maintain audit systems.
  • Investigate microbiological issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation in line with BRC Global Food Safety Standard Issue 9.
  • Continuous improvement of the Hygiene QMS.
  • Prevent build-up & contamination on equipment.
  • Maintain records of all hygiene & maintenance tasks & training.
  • Adhere to health & safety and food hygiene standards.

Role Purpose

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a competent and proactive Hygiene Manager to take full ownership of the hygiene function and drive continuous improvement across our production site. This is a key role for someone who is passionate about excellence, eager to make a tangible impact and excited by the opportunity to shape and elevate standards within a thriving business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Hygiene Team, including scheduling, performance management & training.

  • Experience managing a team of around 20 Team Leaders and 1 Supervisor.
Details

Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday + occasional weekend work required. Working hours can be managed by the candidate and could be 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm, with a 30 minute paid break each day.
