Job summary

Castleton Commodities International, LLC in London seeks a hydrological forecasting scientist to design, develop and deploy quantitative tools that forecast hydrological variables and translate them into power generation forecasts (MW/MWh).

You will partner with European Gas & Power teams, build end-to-end analytics, and implement production-grade models that directly support trading and investment decisions in a fast, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python or R and experience with hydrological modelling.
• Experience with ensemble weather forecasting products and their application to hydro modelling.
• PhD or active research in hydrology or closely related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain quantitative tools that forecast hydrological variables for hydro power forecasts.
• Collaborate with European Gas & Power teams to translate models into trading-ready insights.
• Maintain and deploy production-grade hydrological forecasting capabilities.
