Job summary

The Eresby Special School in Spilsby is seeking a Therapies Lead to coordinate and develop the school’s therapeutic provision, including hydrotherapy and swimming instruction for pupils aged 2 to 19 with complex needs.

You will lead the delivery of physiotherapy programmes, rebound therapy and Thrive, ensuring safe, person-centred support that promotes physical development, communication and wellbeing across the school.

Qualifications

• Paediatric First Aid or willingness to obtain.
• Experience of working with children and young people with additional needs.
• Experience of coordinating or leading therapeutic provision.
• Experience of delivering swimming sessions.
• Experience of maintaining accurate and confidential records.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

About the role

Eresby Special School is a specialist Academy, for pupils aged 2 to 19 years with a diverse range of highly complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are situated in Spilsby in Lincolnshire and are fortunate to access to a wide range of services and providers in our local community, with whom we are proud to work alongside.

The Therapies Lead is responsible for leading, coordinating and developing the school's therapeutic provision while maintaining a significant teaching and intervention role within the hydrotherapy pool.

The post holder will deliver high-quality swimming lessons and water-based therapeutic interventions that support pupils' physical development, emotional regulation, communication and wellbeing. Alongside this, they will oversee the delivery of physiotherapy programmes, rebound therapy and Thrive across the school, ensuring therapeutic provision is safe, effective and responsive to pupils' individual needs..

• Willingness to undertake training relevant to the role.

• Paediatric First Aid or willingness to obtain.
• Experience of working with children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities.
• Experience of working collaboratively to support pupils experiencing dysregulation.
• Experience of maintaining accurate and confidential records.
• Experience of adapting activities to meet a range of individual needs.
• Experience of delivering physiotherapy under the guidance of a physiotherapist.
• Experience of delivering swimming sessions.
• Experience of coordinating or leading physical or therapeutic provision.
