Job summary

Falcon Group is seeking a Plant and Hydraulic Mechanic to join our Shipdham Depot team, with travel to customer sites across the UK. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, testing, and storage of hydraulic equipment, including luffing cranes and climbing systems.

You will help develop a proactive maintenance approach and support across multiple sites. The position offers comprehensive training, career progression, and a pension scheme; attendance at various sites is expected as required.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining hydraulic and mechanical plant equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs with minimal downtime.
• Experience developing and following preventative maintenance plans.
• Good record-keeping for inspections and servicing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hydraulic and mechanical servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs on plant and equipment.
• Maintain hydraulic systems on tower cranes and climbing systems.
• Bench test hydraulic systems and components after maintenance to ensure proper operation.
• Develop preventive maintenance programme to improve reliability and reduce failures.
• Manage hydraulic spare parts and storage to ensure availability.
• Improve equipment storage to protect cylinders, hoses, and components.
• Develop method statements and safe systems of work for hydraulic tasks.
• Attend customer sites to inspect systems during climbing operations.
