Job summary

Ogre Engineering Limited is seeking a Hydraulic / Mechanical Technician to join our workshop team in Laurencekirk. You will be responsible for the preparation, testing, and maintenance of industrial equipment for the oil & gas, marine, and forestry sectors.

Responsibilities include maintenance and refurbishment of hydraulic and mechanical systems, assembly of hydraulic hose assemblies with certified pressure testing, on-site inspections and calibrations, plus thorough documentation and on-site

Qualifications

• Essential experience with mechanical machinery; knowledge of hydraulic systems, hoses and fittings is highly preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings or schematics.
• A full clean driving license is required for on-site service calls.
• A positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in welding and fabrication is a significant plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repair: Conduct scheduled servicing, troubleshooting, and refurbishment of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Assembly & Testing: Manufacture hydraulic hose assemblies and perform certified pressure testing.
• Technical Support: Perform on-site inspections, calibrations, and provide technical assistance to customers.
• Documentation: Complete maintenance reports and other required documentation.
• Workshop Operations: Book in and visually check equipment returned from hire and ensure procedures are followed.
