Wakefield workshop-based Junior Hydraulic Engineer role with a UK leading provider of hydraulic systems. You will assist with assembly and testing, learning under experienced engineers.

The role offers £25,000–£32,000 DOE, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension and overtime, Monday–Friday, with development opportunities in hydraulics and power units.

Qualifications

• An interest in engineering, mechanics or hydraulics.
• A practical and hands-on approach.
• Some previous engineering experience, such as an apprenticeship, workshop environment or similar, would be beneficial.
• Basic mechanical or engineering knowledge.
• A willingness and ability to learn new skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable and willing to take direction from more experienced engineers.
• Able to work safely and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assisting experienced engineers with the assembly and testing of hydraulic equipment.
• Assisting with hydraulic pipework, fittings and hose assembly.
• Learning how to manufacture, flush and test hydraulic hoses.
• Assisting with the assembly and testing of Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs).
• Working from engineering drawings, instructions and hydraulic schematics with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Assisting with the stripping, inspection and cleaning of hydraulic components.
• Supporting engineers with the rebuilding and testing of hydraulic components.
• Assisting with the installation of hydraulic equipment at customer sites.
• Attending customer sites with experienced engineers to assist with servicing and maintenance.

My client is a UK leading provider of Hydraulic Systems, power units and a distributor of components. With a proven track record of using quality brands and providing outstanding engineering services they are looking to now add to their Engineering team. Due to growth, they are looking for an engineer to join their team and develop their hydraulic knowledge progressing into a designated hydraulic engineer. This role requires you to have hands on engineering experience with a want to learn and develop knowledge through continuous training.

Junior Hydraulic Engineer

Workshop located in Wakefield

£25,000 - £32,000 DOE, 25 days holiday plus BH, pension, overtime.

Monday – Friday

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Assisting experienced engineers with the assembly and testing of hydraulic equipment.
• Assisting with hydraulic pipework, fittings and hose assembly.

• Working as part of the wider engineering team and supporting experienced engineers where required.
