Job summary

Ordnance Survey is seeking a Web Content Editor to lead creation, management and optimisation of content across the corporate website. You will work with stakeholders to translate business needs into engaging digital experiences.

Based in Southampton with hybrid working, you’ll handle briefs from concept through publication, monitor performance with analytics, and contribute to campaigns, product launches and journeys that improve the customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and publishing content within a CMS
• Strong understanding of WCAG and web accessibility
• Ability to translate briefs into engaging web content
• Experience using analytics to optimise content
• Proven collaboration with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Create, update and curate content across the OS website, ensuring high standards of quality, consistency and accessibility
• Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives and customer needs, translating these into effective web content and user journeys
• Take ownership of web briefs from initial concept through to implementation, helping stakeholders refine requirements and recommending appropriate content solutions
• Support the planning, creation and delivery of campaign, product and business-critical content
• Build positive relationships across the business, providing advice, guidance and constructive challenge on digital content and website best practice
• Champion accessibility best practice and support ongoing improvements to website content in line with WCAG and wider web standards
• Conduct content audits and reviews, identifying opportunities to improve content quality, governance, findability and customer experience
• Use analytics, user insight and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement
• Manage content within the CMS, including page governance, content modelling, asset management and user administration
• Support and enable content contributors across the business through training, guidance, governance and ongoing support
• Work collaboratively with developers, designers and other specialists to support website development, testing, quality assurance and release activity
• Support SEO, conversion optimisation and engagement initiatives across the web estate
• Contribute ideas and recommendations that improve customer journeys and the effectiveness of the wider digital experience
