Job summary

WSP is seeking a Wastewater Network Modeller (Assistant to Principal) in Exeter. You will join an established water team delivering projects for major UK regulated water companies, collaborating with other WSP units, and applying hydraulic modelling across diverse assignments.

The role involves supporting hydraulic modelling studies, developing feasibility work, and contributing to asset performance evaluations. A strong foundation in urban drainage, GIS, and client liaison is essential.

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering, environmental science, geography or a related discipline.
• Chartered membership of ICE/CIWEM or working towards chartership.
• Sound knowledge and experience in urban drainage modelling and verification of outputs.
• Extensive experience with hydraulic modelling using industry-standard software (InfoWorks ICM or similar).
• Familiarity with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support wastewater team delivery.
• Develop feasibility studies and optioneering.
• Use network models to evaluate and optimise asset performance.
• Prepare reports and supporting drawings.
• Define work needed by field investigation teams.
• Maintain excellent client relationships and coordinate project meetings.
