Job summary

Experis is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist in Coventry. The role involves managing and maintaining the site's customs procedures, records, and reporting to ensure HMRC, UK and international compliance. Hybrid work with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote, on a 12-month contract of 39 hours per week.

The successful candidate will lead export/import activities, support audits, and provide accurate reporting to protect site authorisations and enable efficient shipping operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of UK and international import/export legislation, HMRC requirements and customs procedures.
• Experience in customs, trade compliance, shipping, logistics or similar regulated environments.
• Ability to maintain accurate records, trackers, reports and regulatory documentation with attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills to prioritise daily queries and reporting deadlines.
• Confident communication with Customer Experience, Shipping, Trade Compliance and management teams.
• Ability to identify and resolve routine customs queries, transaction errors and documentation issues.
• Competent IT skills including Excel and business management systems for trackers and compliance records.
• Experience using SAP or comparable ERP system to manage product master data and import/export compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialised expertise for Trade Compliance export and import activities; may lead activities.
• Maintain knowledge of export/import regulations and provide updates to management; ensure reports with government agencies are up to date.
• Assist with internal or external audits and assessments.
• Contribute to creation of reports or records.
• Provide advice to ensure compliance with Export Control regulations and internal policies.
