Portsmouth City Council is seeking a proactive Family Support Worker for the Belong Therapeutic Hub. You will support children, foster carers and families, manage a caseload and provide targeted interventions.

The role works across emotional wellbeing, behaviour, education and substance misuse within a multidisciplinary team. The service uses Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE) and related approaches, with occasional evenings and out-of-hours work.

Qualificações

• Qualified or equivalent experience in child and family support.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions for children and families.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and fostering legislation.
• Understanding of therapeutic parenting and trauma-informed practice.

Responsabilidades

• Provide practical advice, guidance and support to children, foster carers and families.
• Manage a caseload and undertake direct work to identify needs and deliver interventions.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across emotional wellbeing, behavioural challenges, education and substance misuse.
• Contribute to restorative practice and relationship-based approaches with children and carers.
• Prepare clear, accurate records and reports and participate in professional meetings and school/community events.

NVQ Level 4 or equivalent

Experience of working with families and delivering support interventions

Driving licence and access to transport, or ability to travel across Portsmouth

Occasional evening and out-of-hours work
