Job summary

Redline UK is seeking a Test Development Engineer in Colchester to drive the design and deployment of Automated Test Equipment for high-performance embedded computing platforms. You will collaborate across hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, scalable test solutions.

The role covers defining testability requirements, developing ATE specifications, and supporting NPI and pilot builds through production release, with a hybrid onsite/remote workflow and strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• Experience designing Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for electronics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of testing analog/digital circuits, power systems and high-speed interfaces.
• Ability to design production test systems for embedded computing hardware.

Responsibilities

• Define DfT requirements during new product development and PCB design reviews.
• Develop and maintain ATE requirements for new embedded hardware platforms.
• Design and specify ATE hardware including fixtures, ITAs, harnesses and interface electronics.
• Collaborate with software engineers to develop automated production test sequences and diagnostics.
• Support NPI, pilot builds and transition into volume manufacturing.
• Validate and qualify production test systems prior to release and troubleshoot failures.
