Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our Engineering Design team in Normanton on a hybrid basis. You will produce temporary works calculations, create designs for excavation support, working platforms, formwork and falsework, and support design deliverables across projects.

Reporting to senior engineers, you'll develop your technical expertise, mentor junior staff, and contribute to value engineering while ensuring CDM compliance and design risk management

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (2:2 or above).
• Experience in temporary works design is desirable.
• Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations (CDM).

Responsibilities

• Produce temporary works calculations, specifications and design notes.
• Develop designs for excavation support, working platforms, slope stability, formwork and falsework systems.
• Support the production of temporary works drawings and design deliverables.
• Assist with the development of innovative, practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Review and coordinate supply chain temporary works designs.
• Support tender activities through preliminary designs and engineering input.
