Job summary

NATS is seeking a Systems Engineer (Requirements) to support requirements management, engineering workflow coordination and continuous improvement. This contract role is based in Whiteley, with two to three days per week on site and the rest remote. Initial six months with hybrid working and BPSS-ready security clearance as needed.

The role focuses on coordinating demand, improving processes and maintaining dashboards to inform delivery across projects and sustainment teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering or requirements management.
• Ability to coordinate engineering workflows and demands.
• Experience using Jira or similar workflow tools.
• Ability to balance competing priorities across projects and operations.
• Strong reporting and data analysis skills with dashboards.
• Knowledge of governance, RACI models, dependencies and risks.
• Excellent organisation and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Communications Front Door, coordinating intake, triage and routing of engineering demand.
• Maintain a consolidated view of workload across projects, sustainment and operational activities.
• Ensure demand is prioritised and assigned, supporting workload balancing and resource allocation.
• Administer engineering workflows within Jira and related tools, tracking progress and follow-ups.
• Identify dependencies, blockers and risks and escalate as needed.
• Produce workload, capacity and management reports and dashboards.
• Support governance, workflows and RACI models during organisational change.
• Drive process improvements and maintain operational documentation.
